To not paint is impossible for Anne. Art makes her life more complete. She leaves an imprint of her presence through colour, light, shape and depth…
Observations, experiences and life events, also from Anne’s profession as a psychologist, are translated into images. The subject of Anne’s work is the human being in an environment which invites the viewers to question themselves. Themes and emotions such as the passing of time, nostalgia, wonder and joy are woven through her work. Known and alienating elements suggest a magical world that appears in her art.
After years of art studies, courses and training in drawing, (oil) painting and mixed media techniques, the latter has become Anne’s artistic language.
The choice of material is free and different, going from lean materials as charcoal, graphite, markers over watercolours, acrylics and wax crayons to fat materials oil paint and wax. Throughout the years Anne learned the significance of painting techniques but her first rule is “there are no rules, experimenting is everything”.
The process of creating art is Anne’s passion and she looks forward to sharing the results of this process. She’s exposing in solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, The Netherlands, France, China, USA.
